FPX CPQ OnDemand Implementation Services
Implementing FPX CPQ OnDemand is not a herculean task and you might be surprised at the limited number of resources required. FPX offers several options for the implementation phase ranging from providing all resources to allowing the FPX customer to complete most of the work. The choice is up to you.
FPX People experts can help ensure a rapid and smooth transition to CPQ OnDemand. Our data analysts can help set up your FPX Product Data Manager (PDM) database through a streamlined process, create configuration and pricing rules and provide specialized services. Specifically, FPX People provides:
- Project Management – FPX People provides experienced project managers who know how to keep a project moving, how to resolve issues and how to meet deadlines.
- Implementation Analysis – The first FPX People task is to produce the Implementation Analysis document. This document specifies the scope of the products, prices and business rules to be included in the initial phase so that the project does not exceed the agreed upon timeline.
- Account Setup – Activate the CPQ OnDemand account, enable licensed users and set up profile preferences.
- Data Analysis – Results in a document that describes what data will be loaded, from where the data will be acquired and how the data will be loaded into the configuration database.
- Data Model and Data Load – Use FPX Product Data Manager to build the product configuration data model and populate it with data. This may include setting up a data import process.
- Develop Custom Modules – If needed, custom modules can be created to offer specialized functionality.
- Create a Test Case Document – This document describes what needs to be tested before the implementation goes live.
- Set Up Data Export – The CPQ OnDemand Workbench facilitates data mapping to determine the data that is exported from CPQ OnDemand.
- Application Preferences (such as Quote ID format) – There are many application preferences that can be set up using the Workbench.
- Build Proposal Templates – Build proposal templates using Style Report™ Professional (by InetSoft) and the related binding files.
- Setup Workflow – Create the rules, assignments, and notification emails that drive the workflow process.
- Administer Pilot – The implementation is enabled for a small group of users to use in real situations.
- Prepare Documentation – CPQ OnDemand features context-sensitive help that provides general use instructions. If an implementation contains custom modules or a unique approach to product configuration, additional end-user documentation should be considered.

When it comes to the product configuration database, FPX offers complete data management services. However, if you prefer to maintain the data yourself, FPX offers a three-day Product Data Manager training course.
